1 kilo mince meat
2 eggs
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cans of tomato paste
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/3 teaspoon pepper
Some flour
Instructions:
In a medium sized mixing bowl,
mix the meat with the eggs.
*Tip: It is best
to mix with your hands.
Add the onion, cumin, oregano,
salt and pepper and mix well.
Sprinkle some flour onto a plate.
This will be used to coat the meatballs.
In your hands, take an egg-sized
amount of the meat mixture and form into a long
ball.
Coat with flour and then proceed
to do this with the rest of the meat mixture.
Fry the "balls" covered
in flour in a frying pan at a medium-high heat.
*Tip: Frying at
a medium-high heat takes longer, but cooks the
meat thoroughly and doesn't burn the meatball.
Place the fried meatballs in
a large saucepan and cover with the tomato paste
and sugar.
Cook for
20-25 minutes over a medium heat and serve on
a bed of white rice.
